Construction will start next week on a new hotel at the Coushatta Casino Resort, which will boost the number of rooms at the property near Kinder in Allen Parish to more than 1,000.
Story continues belowThe eight-story hotel will have 204 rooms, with 100 being suites, said Bobby Thornton, director of marketing for the casino.
“It will be half suites, all high end,” he said.
The hotel is estimated to cost more than $150 million to build and should be completed by late 2025.
The additional hotel is expected to create between 150 to 200 jobs at the casino. A name has not been selected for the hotel, but Thornton said the Coushatta Tribe wants to pick a name with significance.
